MebergPaul J. Meberg of Consolidated Flooring died peacefully at home on Dec. 27, 2025. He was 72. His death comes almost five years after being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Meberg dedicated his career to the family business, Consolidated Flooring. He started his career as a warehouse worker, then became an installer and mechanic. Over time, he transitioned into leadership and project management roles, going on to become one of the third generation co-owners of the business. Some of his major accounts included Pfizer, the Federal Reserve, PepsiCo, Barclay’s Bank and Hudson Yards.

Meberg was a devout Lutheran, and he celebrated his faith in all aspects of his life. He began his spiritual life at Zion Lutheran Church (Brooklyn), and enjoyed spending time at Camp Koinonia, serving as a board member there for many years. For the last 32 years, Meberg was an active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasantville, N.Y., and a vital part of its faith community.

Meberg loved music. He played both the piano and the trumpet, and he sang tenor in his church choir. As a young man, he hosted a radio program under the pseudonym Marvin Dinkle, showcasing a playfulness familiar to all who knew him. His playfulness also manifested in his love for toys and technology. He had a particular fondness for cameras, becoming the go-to videographer for his family, friends and his church.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Meberg and their children Karen (David), Eric (Ellie) and Sonja (Alex). He is a grandfather of four: Dominic, Cade, Brielle and Ava Meberg.

Services were held Jan. 1-2. Donations in Meberg’s memory may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasantville, N.Y. and Koinonia Family Camp and Retreat Center in Highland Lake, N.Y.
