Boca Raton, Fla.—Q.E.P. Co. has acquired substantially all of the assets of Spray-Lock, a manufacturer of aerosol spray adhesives for flooring and wall applications. Financial terms of the deal, which closed on Sept. 1, were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands QEP’s adhesives platform with Spray-Lock’s patented spray-applied technology, proprietary formulations and technical expertise. The technology complements QEP’s existing flooring installation solutions.
“Spray-Lock, a category product authority and pioneer in aerosol adhesives, is an excellent fit for QEP,” said Len Gould, president and CEO. “The company brings differentiated capabilities, product categories and customer relationships that are highly complementary to QEP’s business today. Spray-Lock’s patented technology will enable us to better serve the Pro across the entire project.”
The acquisition broadens QEP’s offerings across luxury vinyl tile and plank, sheet flooring and vinyl composition tile. It also expands its reach in carpet tile, rubber flooring, underlayment, wall coverings and FRP wall panel applications.
“Its domestic manufacturing capabilities align with our strategy and provide a strong platform to scale the Spray-Lock product line while expanding the solutions we offer across our Professional Network,” Gould added.
Fred Land, founder of Spray-Lock, applauded the deal. “Finding the right long-term steward for the Spray-Lock brand, technology and team was extremely important to me. QEP shares our commitment to innovation, quality and customer service. Its resources, market reach and distribution capabilities provide an excellent platform for Spray-Lock’s continued growth. I am excited about the opportunity to bring Spray-Lock’s solutions to a broader customer base.”
QEP said it will work with Spray-Lock employees, customers and business partners to support the transition and maintain service.
