Hanover, Germany – DuPont Sorona has announced further expansion into the European market with three key carpet and rug manufacturers, including The Balta Group, a global market leader. The Balta Group is officially launching the Amaize carpet collection, made with DuPont Sorona renewably sourced polymer and patented DuPont fiber technology.  HBC Bulckeart and Fletco Carpets have also launched carpet and rug styles made with DuPont Sorona. The carpets and rugs were on display during the Domotex Hanover – World of Flooring Show, Jan. 12 to 15.

“European markets are demanding more renewable materials without compromising durability, stain resistance, softness or luxury,” said John Lyons, DuPont Sorona carpet segment leader. “This is why we are especially pleased to make this announcement with true leaders in the space, demonstrating our combined ability to collaborate and bring about better solutions for our customers.”

Amaize carpet  from The Balta Group, made with DuPont Sorona, is available in numerous styles, aptly named after prolific innovators from the past and present. Newton reflects the trend of modern simplicity.  Edison encompasses up-to-the minute and timeless classic. Nobel is beautiful and practical. Darwin is high-quality, chic carpet with timeless beauty. The collection is available in a variety of colors and styles from The Balta Group.

HBC Bulckaert is adding kid-friendly products to its Sens luxury rug collection made with DuPont Sorona. The ‘Kreative Kids’ collection is aimed at children ages 7 to 13 and the ‘Joyful Kids’ collection is for children under 8 years old.  In addition to Persian designs, contemporary designs are available in the new collection.

Starck by Fletco carpet tiles now include styles that are made from DuPont Sorona in the “Thick Line” collection. The vivid square tiles featuring unique figures, icons, patterns and colors can be mixed and matched for maximum design flexibility.

Sorona is a renewably sourced polymer used primarily in fiber applications including fiber for textiles used in apparel and home, office and automotive interiors, and fiber for carpet including residential, commercial and automotive carpet and mats. In addition to replacing petrochemical based ingredients with those made with renewable resources, Sorona also provides a 30% reduction in energy use and 63% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions compared to incumbent materials such as nylon 6.

The above introductions expand the offerings in Europe already available from Mohawk and Dura.  For more information on the performance and environmental benefits of DuPont Sorona, please visit sorona.dupont.com.
