Kinnelon, NJ – Flooring and stone businesses have the opportunity to learn firsthand how to use social media for business during Surfaces 2012, the annual exposition for floor covering and stone professionals, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. “Social Media: How To For Business” a three-hour workshop led by Sarah Johnson, managing director, MKG Department, and Christine Whittemore, chief simplifier, Simple Marketing Now, offers practical advice for getting found online and connecting with customers.

‘Social Media: How-To for Business’ takes place on January 23, 2011 from 9am to noon and explores how social media tools help flooring and stone businesses extend relationships with customers while providing attendees with a framework for using the tools to flooring and stone businesses.

“Attendees will leave the workshop knowing how to assess their online presence and how to improve it,” says Johnson. “They will also have the tools needed to complete a full strategy document that will launch their company’s social media plan.”

Those attending the workshop or interested in the education topic are invited to take a 10 question survey created for the session. Results will be shared during the workshop. To access the survey click on the following link:  http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XFKP6H8.

“If customers start the purchase process online, flooring and stone retailers must be found there. Social media goes hand in hand with a business’ overall strategy,” says Whittemore. “This workshop describes the tools, provides context and offers guidance for making use of them in a way that supports the business and engages customers.”

In addition, copies of Floor Covering News’ 2nd Annual “Guide to Using Social Media in Business,” with which Whittemore was a contributor, will be available for session attendees.
