Karndean Designflooring becomes FloorScore certified

Home News Karndean Designflooring becomes FloorScore certified

Export, Penn. — Karndean Designflooring’s luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring products have become FloorScore certified in the resilient flooring category.

The FloorScore program, developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in conjunction with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), tests and certifies resilient flooring and adhesive products for compliance with indoor air quality emissions requirements. Floors bearing the FloorScore seal are recognized as contributing to good indoor air quality in order to protect human health.

“Indoor air quality is an important issue for architects, designers and purchasers of interior building products and material, and it was important for Karndean to earn the FloorScore seal to reassure our customers that we are committed to the environmental credentials of our products,” said Michael Lang, senior marketing manager.

FloorScore conforms with U.S. Green Building Council LEED criteria for EQ4.3 (carpet systems, flooring), Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) low-emitting products, and California 01350 Special Environmental Requirements.

Karndean LVT qualifies to earn LEED credits in the areas of New Construction, Commercial Interiors, Existing Buildings, Schools and Homes. Karndean Designflooring is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
