Armstrong Commercial Flooring continues to win Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX), with the latest being for its Striations BioBased Tile (BBT) and Raffia premium vinyl composition tile (VCT).

“We are honored to receive the ADEX awards for our Striations BBT and Raffia VCT products,” said Patricia Fanty, commercial marketing manager, Armstrong.  “These awards are voted on by the design community and it is confirmation that our products align with the current demands of the market. Receiving this distinction is a testament to Armstrong’s passion for developing industry-leading designs and innovations.”

STRIATIONS BBT, a winner in the Platinum category, with a stylish, linear visual in a non-PVC format, continues to garner praise among designers and architects alike for its game-changing combination of sustainability, durability and affordability.  The collection presents an extraordinary blend of beauty and performance, with unlimited options to create sophisticated and stunning flooring designs. This BioBased Tile®, the only one on the market today to meet ASTM F2982 (standards), contains rapidly renewable U.S. grown plant materials and features 10% pre-consumer recycled content. This durable FloorScore-certified offering is eligible for Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design (LEED) points in four categories, including EQ4.3 (low emitting material), MR 4.0 (recycled content), MR Credit 6.0 for rapidly renewable resources, and MR Credit 5.0 for regional materials depending on project location.

In the Silver ADEX award category, RAFFIA confirmed the design community’s desire for a premium VCT tile that contains both pre- and post-consumer content. Raffia stretches the imagination by instantly softening a room with its gorgeous, subtle and silky colorways. Its unique 12”x24” rectangular format offers a linear visual in tonal steps. Raffia is manufactured at Armstrong’s Jackson, Mississippi plant, which is both a manufacturing and recycling facility. Armstrong’s new VCT Reclamation Program reclaims VCT from the market during renovations, enabling the material to be diverted from entering landfills. These reclaimed products are then used to make products like the unique RAFFIA premium tile.
