Mountville, Pa.—AHF Products has introduced new Quiet Comfort underlayment collections for Armstrong Flooring and Bruce.
The portfolio expands AHF Products’ installation accessories for resilient, laminate and hardwood flooring. It offers options for varying project requirements.
The collections address moisture protection, sound reduction, comfort underfoot and compression stability. AHF designed them for residential, multifamily and select light commercial applications.
“Underlayment can be a critical component of the overall flooring system,” said Yon Hinkle, vice president, resilient/IMA, AHF Products. “The Quiet Comfort collections give flooring professionals more options for matching underlayment performance to the flooring product and requirements of each installation.”
Armstrong Flooring Quiet Comfort
The Armstrong Flooring collection includes three underlayment options for resilient flooring and other applications.
Quiet Comfort Shield is a 6-mil polyethylene moisture barrier. It helps protect installations from moisture vapor that migrates through concrete slabs.
The Class I vapor barrier includes a lip and tape. AHF designed it for loose-lay LVT/LVP, rigid core, HDPC, hybrid resilient flooring and laminate. It also supports nail-down and floating hardwood applications.
Quiet Comfort Sound Control uses 1-mm cross-linked polypropylene foam. It reduces footfall noise and sound transmission while providing a built-in moisture barrier.
The product also resists mold and mildew. AHF designed it for LVT/LVP measuring 3.2 mm or greater and non-grouted engineered stone installations.
Quiet Comfort Sound Control is FloorScore Certified. It provides IIC 52/STC 51 performance on 6-inch concrete.
Quiet Comfort Flex Pro combines high-density polyurethane foam with post-consumer granular rubber tile. It provides sound reduction, moisture protection and compression stability.
The 1.2 mm product contains recycled content and is GREENGUARD Certified. Applications include LVT, rigid core, hybrid resilient flooring, laminate and engineered stone.
Flex Pro provides IIC 62/STC 61 performance on 6-inch concrete with a ceiling.
Bruce Quiet Comfort for hardwood
The Bruce collection includes three products designed for hardwood and laminate installations.
Quiet Comfort RackReady is a Class II moisture vapor retarder. It uses 30/30/30 asphalt-laminate Grade B kraft paper.
AHF designed RackReady for nail-down and floating hardwood applications.
Quiet Comfort MultiGuard uses high-performance EVA foam. It provides sound reduction, moisture protection and comfort underfoot.
The GREENGUARD Certified product also resists mold and mildew.
Quiet Comfort SoundMax uses 2-mm polypropylene foam to reduce sound transmission and provide moisture protection. It can also smooth minor subfloor imperfections and add comfort underfoot.
SoundMax is FloorScore Certified and supports laminate and engineered hardwood. Installers can use it for floating and double glue-down applications.
The product provides IIC 66/STC 62 performance on 6-inch concrete with a ceiling.
AHF designed the Quiet Comfort collections to help professionals match underlayment to specific flooring systems and performance requirements.
