Bay City, Mich.—Jack Weidner, founder of Supreme Floor Company, died on May 13 after a six-month fight with cancer with family by his side. He was 68.

Weidner started Supreme Floor Company 47 years ago, and his family said he loved his job — not necessarily for the work, but for the people he interacted with.

“He always said that he never worked for the money,” his wife Ann said. “He enjoyed the people.”

Along with Ann, Weidner founded the Nathan Weidner Foundation in 1995 in memory of their son, Nathan, who died in a moped accident the year before. The foundation has since given out thousands of dollars in need-based scholarships to area seniors. The foundation also supported the Nathan Weidner Children’s Advocacy Center, which is a separate organization.

Weidner was also active in the Bay City Country Club, the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club, the West Side Kiwanis Club, the Knights of Columbus Council 414 and was one of the founding members of the Holy Trinity Booster Club.

Weidner is survived by his wife Ann and four children; Cindy, Mark, Michael and Matthew.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Nathan Weidner Foundation or Heartland Hospice.
