Doral, Fla.—Mediterranea introduced Calacata glazed porcelain tiles produced in Dynamic HD Imaging to recreate the look of Italian marble. Made in the U.S. with advanced digital inkjet design technology, the Calacata collection features fine-graining and golden-streaked hues so unique to the Carrara marble borne on the 16th century Italian Renaissance.
The Calacata series was produced using samplings of Italian marble from the hills of Tuscany. In Calacata Gold, Mediterranea offers a glazed porcelain tile collection in four modern sizes including 12 x 24, complete with 3 x 12 bullnose accessory pieces and 2 x 2 mesh-backed mosaic sheets produced to match using the same glaze and high-definition digital inkjet technology. Calacata glazed porcelain tiles are produced with up to 55% recycled content in 12 x 24, 12 x 12, 6 x 6 and 3 x 6 formats for designing with tile in LEED building projects or LEED for Homes.
