HomeNewsArmstrong wins two coveted design awards

Lancaster, Pa.—Armstrong has received two 2010-2011 ADEX (Award for Design Excellence) awards from Design Journal magazine. The mill was awarded the premier Platinum Award for the New England Long Plank Laminate, and a Gold Award for Luxe Plank luxury resilient flooring.

The ADEX Awards is the largest awards program in the design industry for home and commercial building materials. “The ADEX Awards are given annually to companies that exhibit commitment to design and innovation,” said John Platter, director, ADEX. “Armstrong Flooring continuously impresses with its product innovation and design excellence. This year, the judges were extremely excited about the award-winning products, and in particular, by the company’s ability to fuse its latest technologies, such as its laminate’s glueless Lock&Fold installation, and the one-two-three Lynx installation system of Luxe Plank. These products offer consumers the highest level of design, installation ease and performance.”

Each ADEX category has potential for three award levels of platinum, gold or silver. Judges award points in several categories for each entry. Total points earned determine each product’s score. Minimum scores are needed to qualify for awards. Winners are published each April in Design Journal and also are featured on designjournalmag.com  and adexawards.com.

“The ADEX Platinum and Gold level awards are an honor and a validation of the design excellence of Armstrong floors,” said Yon Hinkle, product manager, Armstrong Resilient Tile & Laminate. “It is doubly gratifying to be recognized in this way, since the competition is judged by seasoned pros from the design world—a hard audience to impress.”
