Workplace fraud hearing

HomeNewsWorkplace fraud hearing

Floor Covering News received a letter from the Maryland and Northern Virginia Floor Covering Association requesting flooring dealers to attend a hearing between the committee, Economic Matters, headed by Delegate Kelly Schultz, and the DLLR (Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation) in regard to the Work Place Fraud Act. The letter reads as follows:

Dear Floor Covering Industry Professional –

We received a call today from Delegate Kelly Schulz about a hearing that her committee, Economic Matters, is having with the DLLR. Kelly’s committee has requested the DLLR to come in and explain what actions have been taking place in regard to the Work Place Fraud Act.

Kelly also stated that she would like as many flooring dealers as possible to attend this meeting so that we can hear first hand what DLLR is up to. I know for all the CCA members it will be impossible to attend but if you have some one from your store to go it would help show our strength.

Please make sure that you pass this email on to every contact on your email list that this act will affect including vendors and their reps.

We need to continue our efforts to fight this bill that threatens to close our businesses and put more people on unemployment.

We also need to continue our support for Delegate Schulz who has taken on this issue from day one and is still fighting in our behalf to correct an unjust law that has a grave negative impact on our businesses.

The meeting is being held in Annapolis on January 19th 2012 at the Loews Building Room 230 at 10:30am.

If you have any questions please email me or call me at 301-639-4400.

Thank you for your help,

Jerry Bush
