HomeCorkUSFloors Surfaces 2013 preview – cork & bamboo

Dalton – USFloors, America’s leading supplier of cork and bamboo flooring, is launching a truly unique assortment of sustainable cork and strand woven bamboo floors in a collection the company calls Natural Reflections. The new collection will be unveiled at Surfaces 2013 and at buying group conventions held throughout the first quarter of 2013. USFloors’ Natural Reflections incorporates innovative new technologies that provide cork and strand woven bamboo floors with popular visuals, exceptional value, and enhanced sustainability.

Digitally enhanced cork flooring adds hardwood visuals

Natural Reflections provides flooring retailers and consumers with a more in-depth assortment of the digitally enhanced cork floors that USFloors introduced in 2012 that featured a series of 18 x 24 tile visuals replicating travertine, limestone, and slate using the advanced optics of Enhanced Realism Technology (ERT).  Due to the popularity of the initial tile assortment, USFloors is expanding the offerings with a series of rustic hardwood plank visuals that take inspiration from its popular Castle Combe rustic hardwood collection. The 7” x 48” hardwood plank assortment features high definition, realistic imagery, beveled edges, and a Kleiberit finish that enhances the grain visual while improving the durability to a commercial AC-4 rating.

Enhanced Realism Technology

Using the advanced digital optics of Enhanced Realism Technology (ERT), high definition images are digitally applied directly to the cork wear layer, producing a natural and realistic visual that surpasses that of comparable laminate paper-applied technology.  With ERT, digitally enhanced cork floors have up to 20 unique tiles or planks for a truly random looking installation that more accurately replicates the look on the floor. Laminate products only include 7-9 unique tiles or planks that create a more visible pattern repeat.

All the benefits of natural Cork

Cork provides the base for the digitally enhanced cork floors in Natural Reflections, a material that is warm, quiet and comfortable underfoot. Cork is also known to improve thermal and acoustic properties, and is naturally mold, mildew and fire resistant. Its resilience is unmatched and cork flooring is known as one of the most sustainable and eco friendly.

Natural Reflections Exotic Fusion

Natural Reflections will now include Exotic Fusion, an assortment of solid locking strand woven bamboo enhanced with real exotic veneers.

Using a solid locking strand woven bamboo plank as the structure, a thin veneer of exotics species is adhered to the structure, giving the consumer a true exotic floor that looks AND feels like a traditional solid exotic floor. USFloors will feature four species in the assortment: Tigerwood, Jatoba, Teak, and American Walnut available in varied lengths.

Eco-Friendly Exotics

Natural Reflections Exotic Fusion floors, offered in a popular ½” x 4 ½” random length solid locking construction, represent a step forward in environmentally responsible exotic hardwood floors. By using strong, durable, and renewable strand woven bamboo as the substrate combined with a thin wood veneer, USFloors is using only a fraction of the wood material that would normally be required for a solid floor. This method maximizes the valuable and increasingly scarce species, thereby minimizing the negative impact on our eco system. The weight and construction of the strand woven bamboo is similar to a solid exotic hardwood, providing a higher perceived value than exotic engineered products manufactured on multiply or HDF base. Exotic Fusion looks and feels like a solid exotic hardwood plank.

Easy to install

Natural Reflections Exotic Fusion floors solve installation problems that are common with solid exotic hardwood floors. Due to the extreme hardness of many exotics species, including Jatoba and Tigerwood, solid exotic hardwood floors can be difficult to install using traditional nail down methods, resulting in damaged planks and extended installation times. Exotic Fusion floors feature a drop & lock glueless installation profile and can be used over any substrate.

Finished to perform

Each of the Exotic Fusion floors are finished with an ultra-durable, proprietary diamond finish that provides enhanced wear protection and improved scratch resistance.  Exotic Fusion floors are maintained as any traditional exotic hardwood and backed by lifetime residential wear, lifetime structure, and a five-year light/medium commercial warranty. Exotic Fusion floors are guaranteed to perform and be trouble-free when properly installed and maintained in accordance with USFloors guidelines.
