HomeNewsArmstrong wins 2 IAC awards for online advertising campaigns

Armstrong World Industries won two Web Marketing Association 2013 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) awards: Best Manufacturing Email Message Campaign and Best Manufacturing Social Media Campaign. Both campaigns were elements of the 2nd annual i2r (Idea to Reality) Design Competition, created and executed by teams from Armstrong Commercial Flooring, Armstrong Commercial Ceilings & Wall Systems, and eMarketing.

i2r is a design competition for professional architects, interior designers, or specifiers to enter their best design concepts (ideas) and design installations (realities) – that use either Armstrong Commercial Flooring products or Armstrong Commercial Ceilings and Wall Systems. The competition included social media promotions, an email series, a video, and a competition website where professionals could submit their work.

“We are very pleased to receive the IAC Awards. The success of our annual i2r Design Competition relies heavily on using social media and email marketing carefully targeted to our commercial audiences,” said Sally Kresge, Commercial eMarketing Manager.

The competition website received 58,000 views, 150 submissions and 1,000 public votes. There were 900 shares through social channels like Facebook and Twitter – 41% later participated in the competition either by submitting an entry or voting. Three email announcements for the competition had a 36% average open rate, compared to a 20% industry benchmark.

“The i2r social media and email marketing campaigns were a collaborative effort that brought together team members with expertise in traditional, online, and social marketing. The results were above and beyond what we anticipated. The IAC Awards are the icing on the cake!” said Kate Wert, Marketing Specialist, Armstrong Commercial Flooring.

The Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) awards are produced by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcase the best in award-winning Internet advertising.
