FCNews has promoted Melissa McGuire and Jenna Lippin to the newly created positions of editorial manager and coordinating editor, respectively. In their new roles, McGuire and Lippin will be responsible for the execution of day-to-day operations.

“Both Melissa and Jenna have taken on added responsibilities this year as the magazine has grown,” said Steven Feldman, publisher and editorial director, FCNews, “and their contributions have made this a better publication. They particularly stepped up upon the departure of longtime FCNews staff member Matt Spieler and took it upon themselves to institute a number of initiatives that have made us much more efficient. Their promotions are well deserved.”

McGuire, who also serves as the editor-in-chief of FCNews’ sister publication, Green Operations, has been with the company for five years. She previously served as the editor-in-chief of Outlook Magazine, a monthly lifestyle publication in Liberty, Texas, after establishing a luxury lifestyle magazine in central Texas in 2006.

“I have a deep affinity for the floor covering industry and have come to love the people who make this their lives,” McGuire said. “I am both humbled and honored to help steer the most prestigious publication in flooring and look forward to growing FCNews above and beyond everyone’s expectations.”

Lippin joined FCNews as assistant editor in October 2012 after pursuing a career in the legal field while honing her editorial skills in freelance roles. She graduated from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va., with a B.A. in English and received her M.A. in English Literature from Hofstra University on Long Island in 2011.

“I am ready to use this leadership position to make positive changes to the publication,” Lippin said. “One of the things I’d like to initiate is more coverage on women in this industry and further the magazine’s social media efforts. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
