Kansas City, Mo.—CFI, the International Certified Flooring Installers Association, through its partnership with Surfaces, presents the CFI Laminate/Wood and Ceramic Installation Training and Certification Workshops. The courses will run simultaneously on the lower level (Bayside) of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Booth B3687 on Jan. 28 and 29.

The training is focused on hands-on skills, starting with the preparation of the substrate through to the finished installation. The CFI teams of instructors offer instructions and demonstrations throughout the training. This is a time for flooring installers to enhance their skills and become familiar with the latest techniques, tools, supplies and methods to solve problems.

The training and certification workshops will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Tuesday, Jan. 28 and from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Wednesday, Jan. 29. The events will feature some of the industry’s top installation trainers who are certified by the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) and the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF). During the two-day courses, the importance of pride and professionalism will be shared, as well as the value of customer satisfaction.

To apply for certification, each installer must submit proof of two years of active installation experience. Installers can register at www.surfaces.com. Click on the “Education Program” register tab at the top of the page and follow the instructions. The event is limited to 16 people, so early registration is encouraged

All tools and installation materials will be provided by CFI and sponsors of the certification training program. Lunch will be provided both days. The cost of the program is $495 and includes Exhibits Only or Exhibits with Education registration. For more information about the CFI Installation Training and Certification, contact Whitney Robinson at wrobinson@CFIinstallers.com or call (816) 231.4646.
