Dale Davis

Chattanooga, Tenn.—The board of directors of Xpress Global Systems (XGS) has named Dale Davis interim president and COO, effective Nov. 1, 2020. Currently COO, he replaces Darrel Harris, who has decided to move on from the company after four years as CEO.

“Since 2016, Darrel has been instrumental to the success of the organization, and while we will miss his passionate leadership, we wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor,” the company noted in a written statement. “We want to thank Darrel for his contributions, which involved many significant accomplishments, including: assembling a strong executive leadership team that was focused on continuous improvement to enhance the customer experience; expanding the XGS network to provide the greatest coverage of the U.S. population in floor covering logistics; and enhancing the go-to-market strategy for XGS to provide holistic solutions for the floor covering community.”

Over the next few months, XGS said it will be conducting a process to identify the next CEO. During this transition period, Davis will be working closely with the leadership team on a variety of key initiatives, including the implementation of enhanced warehouse technology.

Nearly two years ago, Aterian Investment Partners acquired XGS and pledged to invest in the structural, organizational and human capital to position XGS for our next phase of growth. Since that time, the company has achieved success in operational improvements, including routing efficiencies and density savings, safety and process enhancements as well as information system upgrades that are still being effectuated. The company improved its fleet with 375 nearly new trailers acquired last year to help achieve greater productivity while minimizing downtime for our customers.

“We look forward to the next chapter of XGS as we continue our important work of providing innovative, custom logistics solutions to the floor covering industry,” the company stated.
