The Drake HouseRoswell, Ga.—Sunshine on a Ranney Day (SOARD) recently revealed its annual community project, the renovation of the activity spaces at The Drake House here, featuring SolidTech.

The Drake House started in 2004 as a Leadership North Fulton class project to address the growing number of homeless women and children in the area. Community leaders gathered donations and volunteers from business and civic leaders, faith-based organizations, Fulton County, the City of Roswell and the United Way of Greater Atlanta to create a non-profit that could address the need. Now, The Drake House keeps families united under one roof as they work toward self-sufficiency.

“SOARD and The Drake House are in the business of transforming lives,” said Seth Arnold, Mohawk’s vice president of marketing, hard surface. “It was an honor to partner with SOARD to provide single mothers and their children a place to thrive. We hope our SolidTech flooring gives these families the perfect base to learn and grow during their journeys at The Drake House.”

The goal of SOARD’s makeover was to create flexible spaces that allow the children to feel at home in a learning/activity environment. The renovation included redesigning multiple classrooms along with areas for arts and crafts and lounging. The rooms also serve to help moms with relationship building, parenting, money management and health and wellness.

“Without the help of Mohawk, we would not have been able to bring this makeover to life,” said Joe Lane, executive director, SOARD. “The Drake House is an incredible place for families in need, and they deserve nothing but the best. Because of this, Mohawk’s products were the no-brainer choice for this remodel as their flooring continues to deliver the best quality, look and performance.”

The Drake House will feature over 3,000 square feet of SolidTech Founder’s Trace in Dash of Pepper. SolidTech is the impervious waterproof plank suitable for any room. Along with offering waterproof with added WetProtect technology, SolidTech also provides stain, scratch and antimicrobial protection.
