Glen Burnie, Md.Haines, the industry’s No. 1 flooring distributor in sales, announced the acquisition of CMH Space, the No. 4 distributor.
Bruce Zwicker, Haines president and CEO said, “The two companies will be better together, better for customers, suppliers, and employees.”

Haines, the largest floor covering distributor in the U.S., operates in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. CMH Space operates in the same geographic area. The two companies will operate as separate companies until integration is complete sometime in late 2014.

In conjunction with the integration, Haines’ relationship with Armstrong will strengthen with the creation of a dedicated Armstrong division in the Mid-Atlantic responsible for driving sales of Armstrong products in this geography.

The new company combining Haines and CMH Space will have sales over $500 million, over 750 employees, and 38 locations. Haines’ HQ is located near Baltimore. In FCNews’ ranking of top 20 distributors, Haines was ranked No. 1 with 2013 projected sales at $327 million; CMH Space was No. 4 with 2013 project sales of $195 million.
