HomeNewsInvista technology, process upgrades in final design phase

Victoria, Texas—Invista recently entered the final design phase of its $250 million plan to update the production facility, here. The facility is expected to help Invista increase its production of adiponitrile (ADN), a key ingredient in nylon 6,6 fibers and plastics.

This technology upgrade will not only help increase product yield but reduce energy consumption while lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Construction is slated to begin in Q1 of 2019.

“This investment directly supports Invista’s commitment to our branded nylon 6,6 fiber portfolios,” said Maggie Bidlingmaier, vice president of surfaces. “We are excited about the technology upgrades for several reasons, including the opportunity for a positive impact on our Antron fiber life cycle analysis, while improving our ability to meet the needs of our customers.”
