OCEAN SPRINGS, MISS.—The Floor Trader of Gulfport and Gautier both awarded two deserving families with free flooring after they won the Floor Trader 2011 Ugly Floor contest.

Todd and Talena Pace of Pascagoula and Stephanie and Troy Cuevas of Gulfport were the two winners announced on October 6. They will receive $500 worth of free flooring of their choice for their homes. “We are very excited to get some new flooring, and are so grateful to the Floor Trader for this great opportunity,” said Talena Pace when she found out she and her husband had won.

The contest began in August and was promoted through Facebook and within the local stores. Contestants submitted up to five photos of their floors and asked their friends and family on Facebook to vote for their floors. The top five contestants with the most votes moved on to a judging panel where the winner was picked.

“This is the first time that we have ever run a contest like this, and the support and excitement that we received from our Facebook community was astounding. Contestants submitted over 48 photos from all over the Mississippi and Alabama coast,” said Lauren Braden, social marketing director for the Floor Trader. “Because we had so many great contenders, we decided to choose two first place winners to receive free floors. We had such great success that we can’t wait to do another promotion like this and help deserving families locally.”
Floor Trader has three locations, Gulfport, Gautier and Mobile and the business office is locally based in Ocean Springs.
