Santa Fe Springs, Calif—Galleher LLC, the largest flooring distributor on the west coast and third largest in the US, partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 5,000 trees in depleted forests around the world. This partnership reflects Galleher’s 85-year commitment to protecting and supporting the environment and its recognition of the significant role trees play in its business, according to the company.
In addition to this tree planting effort, Galleher said it is working with its manufacturing partners to integrate other sustainability measures into its manufacturing processes across the globe, from more efficient use of wood resources to the continuous reduction of product emissions, to the implementation of cutting-edge raw material tracing systems that help ensure that no illegally or irresponsibly logged wood gets mixed into Galleher’s supply chain.
“As the one of the largest wood flooring distributors in the U.S. who sources wood products from around the world, we understand the responsibility we have to our planet,” said Danny Harrington, VP of product strategy, Galleher. “Our goal is to have a positive impact by supporting responsible forestry practices that maintain and repair forests for the enjoyment of future generations.”
According to Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation, Galleher truly values sustainability and understands the company’s shared responsibility to the planet. “We respect and admire companies like Galleher who take a proactive leadership role in understanding its business impact on the environment,” Lambe said. “We welcome their support of our efforts to help us meet our global re-forestation goals.”
