Carpet: Latest intros span the color spectrum

HomeCategoriesCarpetCarpet: Latest intros span the color spectrum

For years, beige and gray were the go-to colors in the residential carpet market. Now, as consumers look to bring warmth and personality into their spaces, the market has shifted to soft surface featuring patterns and bolder colors.

“The use of color—and specifically what color—is the No. 1 deciding factor in selecting high-end floor covering at the consumer level,” said Len Andolino, president of Couristan. “Color helps calm and soothe a room or adds a certain pizzaz. Each project is an expression of the consumer, and color is a leading factor in that process.”

Mills have made bolder colors a central theme in their 2025 introductions. Here are some examples:

carpetBloomsburg Carpet

Bloomsburg Carpet’s Silver Creek, available for wall-to-wall installations or as area rugs, brings vibrant hues to the floor. For indoor-outdoor versatility, Bloomsburg Carpet offers UV-stabilized carpets that retain rich color over time. The newest Silver Creek carpet launch, Southport, redefines outdoor carpet with a plush cut pile—Bloomsburg’s softest yet—that blends luxury and performance with a cut-and-loop texture in nine refined colorways.

This innovation marks Bloomsburg’s commitment to pushing color and comfort boundaries in the residential market.

Mohawk

One of Mohawk’s big innovations for 2025 is SmartStrand Multi-Colorations. In updating its SmartStrand collections Mohawk has invested in some great new yarns to expand its multi-color cut piles in all channels. Mohawk’s SmartStrand carpet line has 12 new additions for this year. Several of the multicolors offer a futuristic touch, blending metallic shades with warmer tones, while others offer ethereal palettes. SmartStrand’s new patterns include biophilic and terrazzo looks.

carpetStark Carpet

Stark Carpet’s Missoni collection is about celebrating color. A case in point is Stark Performance Acrylic. This proprietary yarn system allows Stark to create true performance products that are durable, beautiful and feel like a natural fiber. They’re also cleanable with a bleach solution for tough stains and won’t fade.

Stark’s Missoni designs in its Galloway collection, created from SPA yarns, exemplify the color stories Stark has been exploring. Rich colors and subtle neutrals come together.

Couristan

The Couristan color story is consistent in both its area rug division and broadloom division. “In both divisions, we have introduced a wide range of space-dyed color options,” Andolino said. “The use of space-dyed allows us to use multiple shades of color in a single strand of yarn. When assembled these yarns create a tremendous color story.”

Standouts for 2025 include Desi in area rugs and Hyde Village in broadloom. Both are 100% wool and use an assortment of colors. “The reaction has been very positive,” Andolino said.

carpetPhenix

Phenix’s 2025 FloorEver PetPlus collection offers sophisticated palettes developed with ColorSense technology, delivering multi-tonal depth and timeless appeal. Signature blends classic elegance with subtle tonal variation; Karma provides a calming foundation in earthy neutrals; Grande Vista captures nature’s richness in expanded hues; and Relic delivers vintage charm with patinaed textures.

Tarkett

Tarkett’s new long tonal space dye carpets—Vibe and Icon—feature a mix of texture, pattern and color. Vibe is ornate and subtle, with deep green hues enhancing the naturally dyed surface, while the fragmented geometric visual adds depth. Icon is designed to bring a fresh and modern edge to any room.

Engineered Floors

carpetPureColor High-Def enhances carpet color by saturating each fiber with up to 24 distinct hues. This multi-layered color process, resulting in what EF calls “color affinity,” seamlessly integrates with any décor.

Beyond its visual appeal, PureColor High-Def offers extreme durability, stain resistance and colorfastness. Because the color permeates the fiber, not just the surface, it withstands harsh cleaning, even bleach, and resists sun fading.

Shaw Floors

Shaw’s design innovations allow for striking colors and textures, an array of styles and colors that align with consumer preferences.

  • ColorShiftEco uses yarn-processing techniques to craft a high-contrast and wool-inspired look for carpets with striated visuals.
  • ColorShift utilizes extrusion technology, enabling varied color concentration.
  • ColorClarity features a blend of color created by tufting four yarn colors into a single strand.

The Dixie Group

carpetTDG pushes the boundaries of traditional color applications. Its white dyable nylon yarn is combined with varying yarn types and luster levels to achieve color palettes with rich texture and visual depth. Shimmer (Fabrica) embodies that philosophy with 50 on-trend shades that celebrate the beauty of color.
