Export, Pa.—Karndean Designflooring’s refreshed Opus collection earned two major product design awards, highlighting the company’s focus on innovation and craftsmanship. 
The luxury vinyl collection received both a GOOD DESIGN award and an ADEX Platinum award. The recognition comes less than six months after Karndean introduced 10 new wood- and stone-inspired designs to the line.
“We’re honored to have the artistry and craftsmanship of the Opus flooring designs recognized,” said Jenne Ross, director of product at Karndean. “More importantly, we’re proud that we can offer this beautiful collection to our customers.”
Karndean launched Opus in 2012 with cool tones and modern style. The newest visuals add warmer wood and stone looks. Retailers, designers and architects can see the collection at Surfaces in Booth 2847.
“When we introduced Opus nearly 15 years ago, we wanted to expand the creative palette in both residential and commercial spaces,” Ross said. “Many of these new designs bring a warmer feel to Opus and offer even more stylish options for a popular spec.”
Opus is a gluedown collection with a 20 mil wear layer. It supports custom installations and works with Karndean design strips. The collection allows smooth transitions between wood and stone visuals. It also supports zoning and wayfinding in commercial spaces.
Karndean backs Opus with a lifetime residential warranty.
Award recognition
GOOD DESIGN has recognized product design excellence worldwide since 1950. The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies present the awards. Opus was the only luxury vinyl product honored in the floor and wall covering category for 2025.
