Mercerville, N.J. — Congoleum Corp. announced that a flooring warehouse in Hamilton Township would cease operations Oct. 31. The company filed a notice with the state Department of Labor that it would lay off 65 employees effective Sept. 1.

A company spokesman said all of the affected employees have been offered positions at the other locations, “but at this point we don’t know how many have accepted the transfer.”

The spokesman said Congoleum’s move was necessary to “consolidate operations to improve efficiencies in an increasingly competitive business environment.”
