HomeNewsMohawk launches phone app

DALTON—Mohawk has an app for that. The brand new “Mo- hawk ME!” phone application allows users to “shop” for the perfect Mohawk hairstyle to fit their face and lifestyle.

Using the iPhone’s camera or images stored in the iPhone or iPod Touch’s photos gallery, users can put a face into one of eight Mohawk styles. Their choice will reveal not only key personality traits, but also the perfect flooring choice to match the lifestyle of the hairdo choice, noted David Duncan, vice president of marketing. The new Mohawk ME! image can be loaded onto Facebook or emailed to friends.

“We’re excited to be the first flooring mill to develop an iPhone application. This provides a fun and interactive way for the digital consumer to connect with, or be introduced to, the Mohawk brand.”

Duncan is determined to have Mohawk lead the way in reaching the digital generation. “Think about it. There are more than 50 million people with an iTunes store compatible device. More than 6.3 million iPhone apps are down- loaded every day, and people have down- loaded more than 2 bil- lion total apps. Those are staggering numbers, and with our new iPhone app the Mo- hawk brand can be introduced to a new, younger generation at virtually no cost.”

The mill’s new iPhone application is now available for down- load from Apple iTunes. The application is free.
