Beaulieu takes fresh air pretty seriously at Carpet One

An oxygen bar at a trade show? I’m not going to complain. When Beaulieu of America hosted one at Carpet One’s product showcase during its convention in Anaheim last week, I was very excited to try for free what would have generally cost me $1 per minute anywhere else these babies are popping up like casinos, airports and resorts. Started in crowded Asian cities like Beijing and Tokyo to purify residents’ lungs, it was a great change from the “bottled air” we are all used to breathing at trade shows.

Oxygen bar proprietor Lou hooks members up to his flavored oxygen.

The air we breath is generally only 21% oxygen, but at the bar, proprietor Lou told us we were breathing somewhere close to 90% pure, clean O. Lou also had us hang on to our own oxygen tubes so we could come back and sample another flavor. Great hygienic bonus there. It was also a great place to hang out and talk with members about the show.

FCNews editorial director Steve Feldman hangs out with C1 member Jonathan Pilchard.

Despite the look on my face it was actually a pretty cool experience. I was looking forward to the benefits, especially after my scotch binge the night before:

  • Reduced stress
  • Increased energy

This is what I look like when I'm being rejuvinated.
  • Increased alertness
  • Alleviation of the symptoms of hangovers, headaches and sinus problems.

The nose tubes definitely reminded me of a hospital hook up but I think I felt a marked improvement in my general well-being. We know Catherine Buchanan did!

Catherine you are a rock star!

The flavors were a fun variation too. I liked peppermint the best. Which one would you like to try?

Lavender is calming. Vanilla is yummy.
Wintergreen=chilling out. Cherry is for the ladies.
