Bainbridge Island, Wash.—Teragren today announced that company founders David Knight, formerly CEO/CFO and Ann Knight, formerly executive vice president/global brand director, have moved into consulting support roles at Teragren to pursue other opportunities.  In addition, David Knight will continue to serve on Teragren’s Board of Directors.

“We’ve had a great ride at Teragren and are confident that the company’s environmental mission will continue to thrive for many years to come,” said David Knight. “We’ve been fortunate to work with many of the top distributors and dealers in the industry. We’ll miss them all, but are looking forward to the new opportunities that lie ahead.”

Moving forward, Teragren President Mike Boshart will draw upon his extensive knowledge and broad background in project management, brand building and go-to-market strategies, as well as his expansive supply chain and international business experience, to assume a greater leadership role at the company.

“While this is a time of transition for the company, Teragren remains more committed than ever to providing environmentally-friendly bamboo products of the highest quality and excellent service to all of our customers,” said Boshart.

Together the Knights pioneered the bamboo flooring industry in 1994, introducing the product to the U.S. building market while simultaneously demonstrating an unwavering commitment to building a company that is environmentally, socially and economically responsible.

Under the Knights’ leadership, revenues grew at a rate of 40% annually for many years and Teragren garnered widespread industry recognition, including placement on Inc. Magazine’s list of “The Green 50” companies setting the standard for environmentally friendly businesses. Teragren’s products are featured in high-profile installations across the country, including the Environmental Protection Agency’s Regional Headquarters and at the Chicago Museum of Science & Industry. David Knight was also a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2008 and in 2009.
