MP Global Products, the manufacturer of the popular QuietWalk underlayment for floating wood and laminate floors and other eco-friendly fiber underlayments, recently introduced VersaWalk, a multi-use sound reduction impact isolation and insulation system designed specifically for nail-down or glue-down wood flooring, luxury vinyl tile, floating engineered wood, and laminate flooring. It’s green, high performing, and versatile – float it, nail it, or glue it!

Engineered to be odorless, non-allergenic and with no VOCs, VersaWalk is composed of at least 94% post-industrial/pre-consumer textile fibers, scrap material otherwise destined for landfill.

As in all MP Global Products fiber underlayments, randomly air-laid filaments create a capillary effect to cushion the floor, dampen ambient sound, and absorb impact sound. VersaWalk both suppresses noise within the room and inhibits the transfer of noise into rooms below.

VersaWalk also adds an R-Value of 0.50 to the floor system, creating a thermal break to the flooring assembly that helps keep floors warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

VersaWalk has the same “Moisture Management System” built into it as its predecessor, QuietWalk underlayment. “The attached 3 mil moisture barrier protects wood, laminate, and LVT floors from harmful moisture,” explains Duane Reimer, technical director. “Provided the source of water such as a leak is stopped, VersaWalk’s absorbent padding will wick water and disperse it throughout the pad until it eventually evaporates or escapes through the subfloor.”

Available in 36″ width (100 sq ft rolls) or 72″ width (360 sq ft rolls), VersaWalk is suitable for residential and commercial use over most types of industry approved new and existing substrates including concrete, ¾” plywood and OSB and radiant heated floors operating below 85 degrees F. VersaWalk carries a Transferable Lifetime Warranty.
