Opus AbstractExport, Pa.—Karndean Designflooring’s Opus Abstract product range has received a platinum Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) award. Since 1995 the ADEX Award has recognized superior innovation, function and aesthetics in design.

Part of the company’s well established Opus glue-down range, the new Abstract capsule collection aims to redefine traditional trends from the Italian renaissance, including terrazzo, natural pigments, poured and speckled concretes, mixed media and Venetian stucco.

“The natural pigments have a woven linen overlay and were created using monochromatic color builds to create tones that have immense versatile design potential and generate movement across the floor,” said Jenne Ross, director of product, Karndean. “The recognition of these abstract visuals by ADEX is a testament to the curated approach our company has taken to develop these new products.”

The commercial market-exclusive Opus Abstract visuals in varying size formats are designed to interact with one another for seemingly limitless wayfinding, zoning and pattern possibilities, without the need for expansion gaps or transitions.

The Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) is the largest and most prestigious design competition in the architecture and design industry. The ADEX Award is the industry stamp of approval for superior design of architecture and design projects and furnishings and building materials marketed for specification to the design trade.

Over 3,000 internationally renowned industry professionals comprise the ADEX global advisory board. A rigorous classification process ensures that each nomination reach the right audience and compete fairly. One of the first awards to acknowledge sustainability, ADEX is the leader in recognizing projects and products that benefit the environment.
