DENVER — Design Success University’s 2013 Interior Design Fee & Salary Survey reveals a shocking statistic: 23.2% of all interior designers left the industry between May 2008 and May 2011 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The free eBook is available for immediate download.

For most designers, 2012 financial results and satisfaction with the profession have been mixed and even dismal:

  • 98.5% of interior designers feel underpaid for the amount of work they do
  • 94% of designers want or need to make more money
  • 72.6% of designers feel overwhelmed
  • 80% want to feel more satisfied with their level of success
  • 67.2% struggle to stay organized

New data revealed in the 2013 Interior Design Fee & Salary Survey eBook shows 10 key strategies that celebrity and high-earning designers use to earn high incomes and achieve success. That’s why the new survey eBook filled with analysis of the results and recommendations is so unique.

Gail Doby, co-founder of Design Success University said, “Almost 60% of interior designers earn less than $45,000. Discovering new strategies that financially successful designers use to earn six-figure+ incomes can transform how other designers approach their businesses to achieve higher incomes and more satisfaction with their careers. Interior designers can ‘peek behind the curtain’ for the first time to discover the reasons why celebrity and high-earning designers accomplish seemingly impossible results in challenging economic times. Our goal is to stop the attrition in the interior design industry by helping designers learn vital business and marketing skills to survive and thrive.  This book is the first step a designer should take to change their results – and it is free.”

Approximately 1,006 interior designers participated in the November 2012 survey.

“Design Success University’s Interior Design Fee and Salary Survey eBook is the most current and comprehensive industry information available,” said Michael Berens, director of research for the American Society of Interior Designers. “Anyone interested in how today’s designers are running their businesses will want to have a copy to refer to often.”
