Norwalk, Conn. – Metroflor Corporation received two 2013 Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) for its Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring. Aspire Floating Groutable Tile took Platinum, while Konecto Oasis Plank received a Gold Award.

The Aspire Collection features a large-scale 16” x 16” tile format with Metroflor’s patented grip-strip technology. The addition of real grout between each tile combined with Aspire’s patent-pending Crescent Edge technology lends depth, dimension and authenticity in every environment, whether residential or commercial. The Konecto Oasis Plank Collection features nine 5” wide by 48” long planks with high-end visuals complemented by a subtle fine-tick wood finish and the Crescent Edge advantage.

ADEX is the largest and most prestigious awards competition for product design of furnishings marketed to the design trade, with over 1,100 companies participating this year. Winners of the ADEX Awards are selected by an independent judging panel and the editors of Design Journal.

Said Russ Rogg, president and CEO of Metroflor, “We’re gratified that the ADEX judges have acknowledged Metroflor LVT’s design appeal, made possible by our technological advances.”

John Platter, executive director of the ADEX Awards, said, “During the recent economic downturn, this industry continued to innovate. The editors were impressed with the strong field of candidates for this year’s awards. We had a record number of entries and companies submitting products for consideration.”
