Wausau, Wis.—Award Hardwood Floors closed its doors earlier this month. The Wausau Daily Herald reported that a message taped to the front door of the business read: “Award Hardwood Floors, LLP has permanently closed for business as of Nov. 15, 2013. If you need assistance, please call 715-849-8080 and leave a message, someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.”
The company was started in 1997. At its peak, it employed 142 workers and manufactured 128 designs of finished hardwood flooring from nine species for independent retailers.
Award had 22 employees at the time of its shuttering, the newspaper reported.
