WEST BLOOMFIELD, MICH.—FCICA, the Flooring Contractors Association, and author of the FCNews column “Installments,” will present an educational session at NeoCon.

“Commercial Floor Covering Demystified” will be presented by FCICA chairman Christopher Capobianco on Monday, June 14 at 1 p.m. in the Merchandise Mart. Geared toward architects and designers, the 60-minute session will stress the benefits of working with a professional flooring contractor.

“Specifiers are bombarded by information from many sources when it comes to commercial floor coverings,” he explained. “A professional flooring contractor can provide unbiased product recommendations, substrate testing and preparation, professional installation, project management and initial maintenance.”

Capobianco noted while the seminar will give participants “a renewed understanding of the specification process for flooring,” it includes a list of resources to create the right specifications for every project. It is an extension of the FCICA vision “to be recognized by the floor covering, design and construction industries as the commercial flooring contractors’ organization, providing the highest level of installation expertise, solutions and opportunities to network with industry experts.”
