GLEN BURNIE, MD.—L&L Co.’s 24th annual Charity Golf Tournament held May 20 was a huge success as donations from L&L, vendors and builders totaled $21,000 for the Believe in Tomorrow (BIT) Children’s House at Johns Hopkins, which provides a comforting place to stay for families whose children are receiving medical care at the Johns Hopkins Children Center.

Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation is a national leader in hospital and respite housing, and is the exclusive provider of pediatric hospital housing for the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. In addition to the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House at Johns Hopkins and the Believe In Tomorrow House at St. Casimir, which provides long term hospital housing for bone marrow transplant patients and their families, BIT has five respite properties that families with critically ill children can utilize free of charge to escape the stress of battling a child’s life-threatening illness. “It’s a remarkable experience to see so many people support such a wonderful cause,” said Mike Geisler, president of L&L. “We’re remaining diligent in our continuing commitment to BIT. Over the past few years, we‘ve experienced first hand, through our customers and vendor partners, just how comforting the houses are in a time of need to the families being treat- ed. We look forward to putting on this event every year.”

Since 1996, L&L has teamed up with BIT National Children’s Foundation to raise more than $405,000 for the Children’s House. Sponsors of the event included Armstrong, Mannington, J.J. Haines, Shaw, Mohawk, Grasmick Lumber Co, Stainmaster Carpet, CMH Distributors, Leggett & Platt and others.

“We’re so appreciative of L&L’s loyal commitment to Believe In Tomorrow,” said BIT founder and CEO Brian Morrison. “Ninety-three percent of all monies raised go directly toward supporting our families, who are going through the most arduous of journeys, as they confront their child’s critical illness. L&L’s philanthropic efforts are a living symbol of corporate responsibility in America. L&L has been one of the largest and longest corporate donors in our history.”
