Dalton—The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) is planning to absorb the International Certified Flooring Installers Association (CFI) under the WFCA umbrella and provide the capital necessary to support CFI’s installation training and certification programs. The WFCA board and CFI executive committee unanimously approved the move at recent meetings.
Robert Varden, who recently agreed to act as the CEO of CFI, will assume the role of vice president of the CFI division, which will oversee the existing and expanded certification training programs. In addition to a new Lenexa, Kan., facility, CFI will open a new 10,000-square-foot installation training facility in Dallas later this year that will accommodate workshops and installation training and certification.
