Beaulieu hits two million mile achievement

HomeNewsBeaulieu hits two million mile achievement

DALTON Ga.—Beaulieu of America associates achieved their 2-million mile goal of walking and running for better health and their individual BYB (Be Your Best) goals. The 4 1/2-mile run/walk event that pushed Beaulieu over the 2-million mile goal was held at a local park in Dalton.

Beaulieu associates are encouraged to plan walking time into their daily routines, with company management setting up walking courses at Beaulieu facilities. In October of 2009, Beaulieu was one of only 820 companies, and the only one in the floor covering industry, to receive the American Heart Association “The Start! Fit-Friendly Company” honors in Fortune magazine. Beaulieu’s walking challenge was recognized as part of a much broader fitness program including healthier choices in company vending machines, easy access to water, “Be Your Best” weight control programs, “smoke outs” to help associates quit smoking, employee newsletters promoting good health and others.

“I’m always amazed at the ability of our Beaulieu Team to meet any challenge and succeed,” commented Ralph Boe, president and CEO. “They have served as an example to our community in leading the walking and overall exercise campaign for better health and well-being.  I’m delighted to see the momentum that this has gained in Dalton and our other facilities’ communities.”
