DALTON—J&J Industries has been honored with a 2010 Excellence in Partnership (EIP) Award by the Coalition for Government Procurement. J&J received the award in the Green Contractor category.

According to the Coalition for Government Procurement, the Green Contractor award goes to the builder who has made the best overall commitment to the environment by either offering environmentally friendly products and services, or adhering to environmentally sound manufacturing and operating procedures. Winners were chosen in 16 categories overall.

J&J’s environmental initiatives are centered around EnAct, its company-wide focus on reducing, recycling, reusing and creating a healthier, more sustainable environment. EnAct programs include R4, a sample and folder return program; the carpet reclamation program; the associate recycling center; and its closed-loop recyclable modular carpet backing, eKo. J&J has also achieved significant annual reductions in waste management, water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and electrical consumption.

The EIP Awards were developed 11 years ago to honor those who have made significant strides in promoting and utilizing the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) and its programs. J&J provides carpet for GSA through its lead brand, J+J/Invision.
