J+J/Invision’s newest product turns yarn into modular carpet

Junking. Picking. Thrifting. No matter what you call it, today’s trend toward repurposing is gaining popularity. When the product designers at J+J/Invision discovered the cache of pristine unused yarn within their own facility, they found they were not immune to the lure of this widespread movement. Thus was born the lively, yet practical, Paradigm Shift collection.

J+J/Invision announces the addition of Energy to this popular collection.  Energy is composed of 100% reutilized Encore RE yarn. It features a linear pattern with a vivid bank of shifting colors that will vary with each production run. Energy is included as a Goods to Go quick ship product.

The two other products in the collection – Emerge and Evolve – also include reutilized yarn along with standard background neutrals to soften the lines, resulting in a look reminiscent of vintage quilts.

With the recent introduction of the Paradigm Shift collection, J+J/Invision has been able to repurpose more than 815 thousand miles of unused yarn back into new product that previously would have been sold in bulk or recycled. That is enough yarn to wrap around the earth 32.7 times. By doing this, J+J is able to create a striking product that uses manufacturing resources to their fullest potential – offering dynamic performance and environmental attributes.

With all three products, the inherent colorway flexibility allows for easy modular replacement and thus no need for matching dye lots.
