Hamont, Belgium—I4F, a group of companies providing patents and technologies to the flooring industry, reported on its recent participation at Domotex Hannover, Surfaces and Domotex USA 2020. The company ensured a strong presence with booths at all three major global flooring exhibitions.

During the course of four weeks, I4F logged over 150 appointments, speaking to industry leaders from North America, Europe and China, as well as Latin America, India and South East Asia. Visitors included licensees and other manufacturers, technology partners, top distributors and leading retailers. According to the company, I4F’s patent cluster concept strategy and technologies were well received and, as a result of the shows, the company expects to sign-up at least 10 new licensees for its locking systems and other technologies belonging to its patent portfolio in Q1.

“There was an upbeat mood on all the shows with everyone focused on innovation and new product development,” said John Rietveldt, I4F’s CEO. “In addition to the new licensees being signed up in Q1, several companies asked us to represent their patents in the market. This further reinforces our strong position as the flooring industry’s innovation partner of choice helping licensees embrace this new decade with accessibility to new and exciting technologies.”

The company showcased technologies and innovations immediately available via an I4F license offering cutting-edge solutions in the areas of locking, materials and panel composition, board and wall panels, manufacturing processes as well as for surface finishing and digital printing.

In addition to its locking systems, there was an interest in digital printing, floor panels with grout features and the matte surface finishing technologies. According to the company, visitors were especially impressed by I4F’s unique digital printing technology delivering an embossed 3D effect on decorative panels.
