HomeNewsHGTV creates first “HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom”

New YorkFor the first time, HGTV Home products are on display for the public at the HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom, a 2,000 sq. ft. store, and at the HGTV Holiday House, a modern day, life-size gingerbread house at Mall of America, the nation’s largest retail and entertainment complex, in Bloomington, Minn. For more than five weeks, beginning “Black Friday,” Nov. 23, 2012, through New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2013, the HGTV Home Pop-Up Showroom offers shoppers an up-close look at the breadth and diversity of products in the collection, including the magazine, paint, flooring, furniture, lighting, plants and more.

Located on level 1, south at the Mall of America, the HGTV Home Pop-Up Showroom features three stylistically designed versions of the elaborate Be Bold, Relax and Family Time vignettes featured on hgtvhome.com.  This holiday season, consumers can immerse themselves in HGTV Home products, including HGTV Magazine, HGTV Home Flooring by Shaw, HGTV Home Furniture Collection, HGTV Home Design Studio at Bassett, HGTV Home Lighting by ELK Lighting, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams and HGTV Home Plant Collection curated by Agricola Management. Customers have the opportunity to experience these vignettes by walking the floors, feeling the fabrics and exploring every aspect of HGTV’s collections in one venue.

“Bringing our products together under one roof at the HGTV Home Pop-Up Showroom at the Mall of America offers shoppers and fans of all ages the opportunity to see, touch and feel HGTV,” said Ron Feinbaum, general manager, HGTV consumer products. “By working with our partners to develop the in-store displays, our new HGTV Home products will inspire consumers with ideas for their own homes.”

From the lighting to the flooring and the ceiling to the walls, the showroom is decorated with HGTV Home products throughout the space and in unique presentations, such as an HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams paint chip collage wall using all eight HGTV Home color collections; a patchwork sampling of HGTV Home Flooring by Shaw; a sneak peek of two new 2013 HGTV Home Furniture Collection accent pieces; and an oversized cover of HGTV Magazine’s December issue. HGTV also offers shoppers an inside look at the craftsmanship and quality of HGTV Home products, including a mini-display of the custom upholstery and furniture by the HGTV Home Design Studio at Bassett, and a behind-the-scenes “Style Files” video featuring design director Nancy Fire’s process in creating the HGTV Home vignettes.  Mall of America shoppers will also have the opportunity to sign-up for a one year subscription of HGTV Magazine for the special rate of $15 at individual iPad stations, and children are encouraged to enjoy the Design Center where they can color junior designer sheets and a dream room sketchbook while their parents peruse the showroom.

In the Mall’s rotunda, HGTV Home is also showcasing HGTV Home products at the HGTV Holiday House, a life-size gingerbread house where shoppers may attend free demonstrations, meet and greets, and autograph sessions featuring popular network talent. The house is decorated with HGTV Home Flooring by Shaw, HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams wallpaper, and features a sitting area furnished with custom furniture by HGTV Home Design Studio by Bassett. Various HGTV Home furniture pieces and lighting are also constructed in the form of a holiday tree.

“Mall of America has revolutionized the shopping experience for more than 20 years,” said Denise Conroy-Galley, HGTV’s senior vice president of marketing and creative. “We are excited to deliver a truly unique entertainment adventure for millions of holiday shoppers with the HGTV Holiday House and the HGTV Home Pop-Up Showroom.”

Shoppers also may visit the HGTV Holiday House and the HGTV Home Pop-Up Showroom to rest and catch episodes of HGTV’s popular shows, such as “Love it or List It,” “Property Brothers,” “Home Strange Home” and a special live viewing of the Rose Parade, courtesy of Comcast Cable, on New Year’s Day.

The HGTV Holiday House and HGTV Home Pop-Up Showroom at Mall of America will be open to the public every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT (Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT).
