Arley opens North Carolina distribution facility

Arley Wholesale, a family-owned, third generation wholesale supplier of tile and stone headquartered in Scranton, Pa., has opened up a full-service distribution/warehousing facility in Greensboro, N.C. The firm will begin delivery on March 25th from that location using its own fleet of trucks.

According to Scott Levy, Arley executive vice president of operations, “We will be delivering in stages, in concentric circles from Greensboro out.  We want to make sure we are doing everything correctly. Frankly, we are giving our customers what they asked for, as for years those in that region wanted us to have a local presence. Up until now they couldn’t buy all of their sundry items along with the tile because of freight on common carriers.  [Customers] also wanted to make sure that we were long-term players in the marketplace; opening a regional distribution center gives them what they have requested.”

Once the new location is fully operational, customers will be able to place orders by 3:00PM and have them delivered either the next day or the day after (depending on specific delivery day and branch in which the material is inventoried). Levy added, “We will start with 1X per week delivery; this will increase as the business demands.  Our customers can now enjoy the benefits of purchasing all of their goods through one source. This cuts down their freight costs, hassle of trying to coordinate shipments and gives them the opportunity to see inventory online, order online and manage their accounts 24/7.”

Longtime Arley employees, Tim Ruscoe, manager, and Pat Carter, assistant manager, will supervise the new facility.
