Mercerville, N.J.—Congoleum recently introduced AirStep Basix, an entry level AirStep product specifically engineered for the builder and property management market that features Congoleum’s UltraTec product construction, which blends traditional felt and fiberglass product construction. As a result, like AirStep Evolution and AirStep Plus, AirStep Basix can be installed three ways: loose-laid, perimeter fastened or full spread over a variety of subfloors.

“Airstep Basix rounds out our family of Airstep products and now we can offer a good-better-best scenario with Basix as the good, Airstep Plus as the better and Airstep Evolution as the best,” said Dennis Jarosz, vice president of sales and marketing. “We now have our family of Airstep products that are the better alternative to fiberglass in sheet flooring completed so that builders, property managers and remodel retailers can find the best selections for their particular needs.”

With UltraTec construction, flooring contractors can install AirStep Basix over many different types of subfloors as a loose lay or perimeter-fastened installation and eliminate costly and time-consuming underlayment requirements. It can also be installed loose lay without any seam or room size restrictions.

AirStep Basix design collection features 4 natural designs and 12 colorations specifically selected to appeal to the builder market. A Scuff-Tuff urethane finish, easy care wearlayer and a 10- year residential limited warranty make it a great choice for specifiers, building owners and ultimately consumers.
