FlorLab is available on all of Raskin Industries’ brand websites.

It can be difficult for some consumers to visualize what a new floor will look like in a particular room of their home. To make this process easier, Raskin Industries recently launched FlorLab, an advanced room visualizer that is available for use on Raskin Industries’ brand websites—raskinind.com, acrylxusa.com, luminationsfloors.com, floornationusa.com and ceramixusa.com.

FlorLab leverages proprietary augmented reality (AR) technology to allow consumers to see how flooring would look in their own space before installation. “Unlike many AR tools, FlorLab does not require the user to download an app,” Michael Raskin, founder and CEO, Raskin Industries, explained. “Nor does it [require] the user to select the corners of the surface she wants to alter. Instead, the tool automatically detects the space.”

To get started, the consumer first finds a flooring product on one of the brand websites she likes. Then, she clicks or taps the “See This on My Floor” button, which is located under the product image. Next, she chooses “Take a Photo of My Room” and then selects “Use Photo.” The flooring product will immediately render into the image of her room. In addition, if the user does not want to upload an image, she has the opportunity to choose from pre-selected room scenes.

Once the image is rendered, users can take a number of next steps. Options include rotating the flooring 90 degrees or tapping the option “Change Product” to select a new product or filter by category or collection—all without leaving their rendered room scene.

“This makes the tool incredibly valuable when comparing how several different floors may look in the same room—a feature designers, retailers and homeowners are sure to appreciate,” Raskin said. “FlorLab removes the friction consumers face in making purchasing decisions. Consumers can be confident they are getting the product they want.”

FlorLab is just one of the company’s innovations for 2020. “This is the year of ‘what’s next,’” Raskin said. “I am personally invested in LVT and have been since the days before it was a hot term in the industry. Whether fashion-forward design, unparalleled performance or sustainable attributes is at the top of your list, Raskin Industries has the ideal solution as our product catalog can check all of the boxes. We are looking forward to the future with new designs, continued success and long-lasting relationships.”
