WASHINGTON—Grammy award-winning band, Maroon 5, will help ring in Greenbuild 2011 in Toronto at this year’s opening plenary celebration.  The band has had a presence in the music scene since 2002, and has been devoted to fighting climate change: From bio-diesel tour buses to the band’s performance at events like 2009’s Live Earth Inaugural Ball.

The band has also taken the stage in support of Haiti, USGBC’s target area of aid and sustainable development through its Project Haiti campaign. The band helped launch the Haiti: Aid Still Required movement earlier this year, and played at “A Night to Benefit Haiti” in Los Angeles.
