Dalton–Training magazine, the leading business publication for learning and development professionals, has once again recognized Mohawk Industries in its annual listing of the “Top 125” training organizations, ranking the company 33rd—and top in the flooring industry—among some of the most highly regarded businesses in the U.S.

For the 10th consecutive year, Mohawk earned recognition on the prestigious list, which evaluates excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs. The company was the highest ranked flooring manufacturer on the current list and is the only flooring manufacturer and one of only a handful of manufacturing companies ranked among Training’s elite top five.

“Mohawk is committed to being our industry’s preferred provider through leadership in design, service, quality and innovation, all of which require ongoing training to sustain success at the highest level,” said Becky Redd, corporate learning director for Mohawk Industries. “We continually invest in new technology, and we must ensure that our people have the skills to optimize the impact of those investments, whether that’s state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, groundbreaking logistics systems or leading-edge customer relationship management platforms.”

Redd emphasized that Mohawk recognizes the value of workforce development across the business because it creates value for customers and lays the foundation for the continued success of the enterprise.

“Every day, at every Mohawk facility, hundreds of people formally and informally train, coach and mentor employees,” Redd said. “Training helps individuals achieve their potential while helping the business achieve its goals. Our long history of recognition from Training magazine reflects the important contributions of all of those men and women and reinforces the value that they bring to our company and to our customers. I am so proud that their outstanding work has been recognized throughout the past decade.”

Mohawk’s high place in the rankings was based on a multitude of corporate training initiatives.

“The alignment between corporate training and customer learning programs is unique in the flooring industry as well as most other industries,” said Mike Zoellner, Mohawk’s vice president of marketing services. “Continual learning is the key to success in a highly competitive economy, and Training magazine’s “Top 125” ranking gives retailers total assurance that partnering with Mohawk provides them with industry-leading training.”

One of the programs that sets the company apart from its competition is Mohawk University, a unique course that provides retailers with world-class learning opportunities both online and in the classroom.

“At Mohawk, we are always looking for ways to help our retailers be successful, which is why we have worked so hard to create a top-tier training program in Mohawk University,” Zoellner said. “Over the past two decades, Mohawk University has made a name for itself by partnering with industry leaders to provide retailers with the best and most innovative training available.”
