Lexington, Ky.—With a traditional ceremonial “snip,” Kentucky governor Steve Beshear officially dedicated Florida Tile’s new corporate headquarters here last month, which will support the company’s nearby manufacturing facility and distribution center in Lawrenceburg, and its marketing, sales and distribution efforts throughout North America.

Five years ago, Florida Tile’s parent , Panariagroup, said it would retrofit the then under-utilized Lawrenceburg plant, thus

making a strategic investment in U.S. manufacturing with Florida Tile. That facility is now running 24/7.

In 2009, it announced plans to move Florida Tile’s headquarters from Lake-land, Fla., to an expanded facility here.

Florida Tile and the Governor’s office stated the new facility initially will create 25 new jobs, growing to more than 50. The project was one of the first to be approved for incentives through Ken-tucky’s Business Investment Program, established by Beshear in 2009.

Calling it the start of a long partnership, the govenor said,  “The attraction of Florida Tile‘s headquarters was a big win for Kentucky, creating dozens of high-wage, professional jobs and a multi-million dollar investment.”

Michael Franceschelli, Florida Tile’s president, said the move  is a “great advantage to our business in the synergies created by our proximity to our manufacturing and distribution facilities.”

The Lawrenceburg facility manufactures and distributes porcelain and ceramic tile for floors, walls and other surfaces, as well as distributes Florida Tile natural stone and decorative products from around the world.
