Chagrin Falls, Ohio — Johnsonite, the commercial arm of Tarkett and provider of the world’s most integrated high-performance flooring systems, has recently received several important product certifications for sustainable manufacturing, including the flooring industry’s first NSF-332 Platinum for the company’s popular iQ Product line. Receiving third-party environmental benchmarks and recognition, such as NSF Platinum, Bio- Preferred, and FloorScore, reflect the company’s rapid progress and ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Tarkett is currently the only manufacturer that has achieved certification across wall base (Ecolibrium), rubber and vinyl flooring. In addition to their many Gold-level products (Azrock VCT, Textile Rubber tile, Aria, Melodia and Contract Plus) Tarkett is the only manufacturer with two NSF-332 Platinum certified products: EcolibriumTM Bio-Based wall base and the iQ product portfolio.

In addition to NSF-332, Tarkett products are manufactured in ISO 14001 facilities, and are certified under FloorScore. The company’s popular linoleum is currently C2C silver and bio-preferred labeled and is undergoing certification under the NSF 332 standard. The breadth of certifications, ranging from material use to manufacturing conditions to end-of-use practices to occupant health, ensure customers that Tarkett is focused on every aspect of sustainable production.

“There are so many green certification programs out there today, it’s easy to be overwhelmed,” said Diane Martel, Vice President, Environmental Planning and Strategy for Tarkett North America. “We are dedicated to working with the most well-known and comprehensive certification boards to really showcase the best of our products’ sustainable qualities.”

The company is currently working toward their goal of have all product categories certified under the NSF 332 standard— which would be a first for the industry.
