HomeNewsLaticrete racer wins 20-lap INEX Legend Car Race

Laticrete, a manufacturer of globally proven construction solutions for the building industry, announced today their youngest sponsored driver, Joey Ternullo, won the checkered flag at Waterford Speedbowl. Driving the Laticrete “Legend Car” in the Young Lions (12-16 year-old) Division, he is the son of Joe Ternullo of Middletown Ceramic Tile Company, a Connecticut firm that has been using Laticrete materials and methods for over 50 years.

During the 20-lap INEX Legend Cars feature, Ternullo took the lead on lap-1 after starting in second. Soon after, the top-five cars all ran in tight quarters as lapped traffic became a factor as the race ran without a caution flag through lap-17. Down the back chute, another driver had a run on Ternullo, but backed off headed into turn three. Joey went on to his first win in the division, coming in ahead of 23 other cars… and, just one year after moving up from the Bandolero class at the track.

“Once again, we are very proud of Joey’s performance,” stated a David A. Rothberg, Laticrete CEO/Chairman. “Our families have known each other and worked together for so long; we are pleased to be his top sponsor.”

Upon receiving the checkered flag, Joey Ternullo stated, “I thank you, Laticrete!”
