IVC US products receive FloorScore certification

HomeNewsIVC US products receive FloorScore certification

Dalton—IVC US is pleased to announce its achieved FloorScore certification for several of its flooring products, including itec, BluePrint, and several residential collections.

Developed by Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in partnership with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a FloorScore seal confirms product compliance with indoor air quality (IAQ) emission requirements of volatile organic compounds implemented by the California Section 01350 Program.

“A FloorScore certification not only recognizes a product or collection, but also a manufacturing process of excellence,” says Derek Kozlowski, Director of Quality at IVC US. “The IVC US team has put in a tremendous amount of effort to ensure that we meet or exceed FloorScore’s rigorous standards.”

Because most people spend about 90 percent of their time indoors, it’s important to keep IAQ levels high for better breathability. Poor IAQ can increase the risk of certain health concerns, including headaches, dizziness, and other serious long-term conditions.

In addition to enhanced IAQ, FloorScore certified products are recognized by a variety of environmental programs, including, but are not limited to:

  • · U.S. Green Building Council LEED Rating system

o New Construction

o Commercial Interiors

o Core and shell

o Healthcare

o Schools

o Homes

o Existing Buildings

· Green Guide for Health Care

· Green Builders Assessment Protocol for Commercial Buildings

· NAHB ANSI National Green Building Standards.
FloorScore requirements have also been adopted and accepted by Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS). Better air quality has been shown to enhance learning in schools, boost productivity in offices and increase home comfort.
“Achieving FloorScore certification further illustrates how our new plant is advancing and striving to go the extra mile,” says Xavier Steyaert, CEO of IVC US. “FloorScore is an independent certification and emphasizes IVC’s commitment to perfecting our manufacturing process.”
