Dalton– Surrounded by the sounds of laughing children, live music and mingled voices, the associates of J&J Industries heard only the sounds of friendship and camaraderie as they enjoyed the 2012 J&J Family Day.  The event was a celebration of J&J Industries’ 55th anniversary and was held on Saturday, September 15 at the North Georgia Agricultural Fairgrounds. More than 900 associates and family members attended the festivities.

“J&J is so much more than just a carpet manufacturer – it’s a family of people who are dedicated to an idea and to each other,” said David Jolly, President and CEO of J&J Industries. “This commitment is what makes us strong, and it’s only right that we recognize our Associates and take every opportunity to thank them. Our Family Day is one small part of helping people spend time with their families and re-energizing a spirit of community with their fellow employees.”

An afternoon of fun-filled activities greeted J&J employees when they arrived at the Fairgrounds. From carnival-style games to arts and crafts for kids, there was something for everyone.

“It really means a lot that they take the time to plan and to spend this kind of money on us when they don’t have to,” said Eddie Brewer, a 7-year J&J associate who works in the Sample department.

“The smiling faces of more than 900 people at our 2012 Family Day demonstrate that the J&J community is as strong as ever,” said Jolly. Since its beginnings in 1957, J&J Industries has considered everyone who works for the company as family and its many company traditions support that belief.

At the end of the event there were door prizes given away. The biggest applause came when Denise York, Customer Service (16 years of service at J&J) won the 40” LCD Flatscreen TV. Among other great giveaways were a Spa Day Package for Two won by Mickey Rogers, Tufting (5 months of service at J&J); Dewalt Tool Kit won by Ruthie Stokes, Custom Development (24 years of service at J&J); Grill won by Ron Haller, Extrusion (8 years of service at J&J) and an iPad won by David Harrold, Tufting (21 years  of service at J&J).
